The fort where Shivaji Maharaj was born in 1627 is very difficult to climb hence safe from enemies. ‘Shivaji’, named after the goddess `Devi Shivai` on the fort, spent his childhood here and acquired all the skills and training, in fact the lessons to establish ‘Swaraj’. Shivai Temple, `Badami Talav`, Ganga-Jamna Tank, and the statues Jijabai and child Shivaji , Dongarmatha, Kaman Take and Kadeloot Tok are places to visit.
