Located on the banks of the Indrayani River, Alandi popularly known as Devachi Alandi (God`s place) is known for â€˜samadhi’ and a temple of the Saint-poet Dynaeshwar.

The temple was built in 1570.  Sant Dynanehswar translated the Bhagwat Geeta in Marathi known as `Dyneshwari` and attained Samadhi in a cave here. This is pilgrim center revered by many Hindus.

Vitthal-Rakhumai temple, Ram temple, Siddhabet, Jalaram Mandir  and Dnyaneshwar`s wall, (believed to be moved by spiritual powers by Saint Dnyaneshwara), Krishna Temple, Muktai temple are also places to visit.

Big festival is held on every Kartika Ekadashi (eleventh day of the eignth Hindu month of Kartik), here, when the Palaki –Yatra (procession of pilgrims) reaches the town.

Alandi is also popular for facilities for mass-marriage ceremonies at nominal expenses.
