Bhopal

Taj-ul-Masjid is one of the largest mosques in Asia built by Nawab

Swamination Marg at Shamla Hills is a unique centre designed by the architect Charles Correa, housing museum of contemporary folk and tribal art ROOPANKAR, an art gallery, a repertory theater Antaranga, an open air threatre Bahirang, with a beautiful backdrop of the lake, and a studio theater Abhirang, auditoriums VAGARTH the centre for Indian Poetry with rare manuscripts and huge libraries having 445 hectares of area, CHHAVI is reserved for classical cinema. is a safari park having rich variety of animals, wild life and birds,
Famous Regional Science Centre is situated on the picturesque Shamala
Hills, also Khatalpura Mandir, Bhel Township, Shaukat Mahal, Sadar
Manzil , Gandhi Bhawan, aquarium, Laxmi NarayanTemple & Museum, Jama
Masjid, Moti masjid, Id-gah etc.
Places Around Bhopal
At
half an hour’s distance, Bhojpur is situated which is famous for 1000
years old magnificent Shiv Temple called as Somnath Of East. The
enormous Shiv Lingam in the temple carved out on a single rock over a 3
tiered square sandstone platform is the largest in India .The Lingam Is
7.5ft tall with nearly 21.5ft circumference.
Bhim Bhetka based on the northern fringe of Vindhya Mountain ranges is a major tourist attraction is 46 km from Bhopal. The site has south Asia’s richest collection of the archeological discoveries and paintings in over 500 caves in the rocky terrain of dense forest, depict the life of pre-historic period to the Mesolithic making Bhim Bhetka group an archaeological treasure.
At 22 km. is Samas Gadh which was discovered 70 years back by Jain Saints, has innumerable jain images.
By Rail: Bhopal is on the Delhi-Chennai main line. Direct connections from Hyderabad, Bangalore, Tiruvantpuram, Jammu, Amritsar. Major trains going from Mumbai to Delhi via Itarsi and Jhansi also go through Bhopal.
